Rising UK star fakemink releases new single with Drain Gang's Ecco2k

Developing in the star studded, UK underground, there’s one name that beckons attention and conversation with every new release: fakemink. With ‘Easter Pink’ continuing to rise as well as a string of recent singles, it was inevitable that his traction would lead him to collaborate with artists outside of the UK scene.

Originally previewed in an Instagram live 2 months ago as a collaboration with Ecco2k, it was further teased with a music video snippet in an Instagram post just a few weeks ago, surging the anticipation and excitement. Fans knew that it was only a matter of time before the young UK star and fabled Drain Gang member officially released the song and the eagerness was palpable.

After the song leaked following the Instagram post, it was released unannounced last Friday in the form of ‘MAKKA’, featuring Ecco2k with production from Mechatok and additional guitar by deer park. All 4 members have excellent contributions, with Ecco2k contributing two beautiful hooks and a bridge and fakemink killing the beat laid down by Mechatok and deer park.

fakemink’s flow is some of his best, perhaps the best since the release of ‘I’m Dead’, earlier this year. The electronic production features hard hitting bass and piercing synths, perfect for this vocalist duo. Hopefully, more members of Drain Gang will continue to collaborate with artists coming out of the underground, especially with the sheer magnitude of influence they’ve had on so many artists.

Listen to ‘MAKKA’ below.
