When you're wanting to decompress for the day, let your mind wander, and just want to sink into the wonderful feeling of an easy afternoon, I’d highly recommend playing ‘Surf’, the debut single of Melbourne-based artist JINYU.

There’s nothing that goes down quite as smoothly as a bit of soulful R&B but add a bit of bedroom pop sweetness into the mix, and light, slapping percussion, and you’ve got yourself a beautiful sound that cannot just help you escape into a more serene world but also ground you at the same time.

‘Surf’ is an incredibly gorgeous song with so many unique accents that you’ll instantly get hooked on and honestly, if you’re not constantly singing “surf, surf” to yourself after hitting play for the first time, then you’re lying. This is the kind of hook that’ll stay with you for days, but in such a soothing way, Just humming it to yourself will put a smile on your face and for that, I must say thank you to JINYU for releasing a song that low-key helps calm my nervous system.
