Mouseatouille reflect and rejoice on new single ‘Harry and the Jets’

The first new track from Mouseatouille in over 3 years arrived recently in the form of ‘Harry and the Jets’. The 9-piece band from Melbourne has returned with some new tunes, ahead of their third album ‘DJ Set’. With 9 members, all with their own charm and passion, there’s bound to be some intricately woven construct of sounds, masterfully displayed on this new single.

Members Harry Green and Fergus Menner share the singing, as the latter captained the writing of the song. While on the surface this ballad stories the trials and tribulations of dating in your teen years, Harry has also described the song as a “love song from Fergus about the band”. They’re accompanied by a dense collection of instruments, including some intertwined sections of clarinet and saxophone, arranged by Sofia Green. It’s the type of music that feels like a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cool winter's morning, and the type of feeling that is sure to consistently return on the upcoming album.

After touring with bands like Black Country, New Road and Your Arms Are My Cocoon, they’re no strangers to live sets either, just recently holding a long awaited single release show for this track. Hopefully a headline tour for the new album is just around the corner as well.
