Sweet Boy is back with an emotionally charged new single

Sweet Boy’s latest release sees him diving headfirst into shoegaze and alternative rock, expanding beautifully on his style in new ways. Those droning guitars that were the foundations of his slowcore tracks are present here, but now they’re being backed by some energetic rhythm guitars and emphatic drums. Sweet Boy’s vocals are once again a highlight, as his soothing voice complements this track well, at the crossroads of yearning desperation and hopeful optimism.

Compared to his EP, Lucky, from late 2024, this is definitely a departure from the sounds that his fans know him for, yet he does such an excellent job of conveying the same emotional outcry. The single is accompanied by a gorgeous music video that communicates the feelings of pining evoked from the track, with a simple yet powerful approach. Definitely an artist to continue to watch out for new releases from.
